| Significance | Wimpina (also known as Konrad Koch) was one of Martin Luther’s earliest opponents. The Frankfurt theologian drafted 106 theses as a response to Luther’s 95 theses. Johann Tetzel used these at a debate in Frankfort in 1518 concerning Luther’s attack on indulgences. Wimpina attended the Diet of Augsburg in 1530 and worked with Eck and others on the Confutatio, the Catholic response to the Lutheran Augsburg Confession. |
